Biju Care - Individual Budget Brokerage Services

The Government has instructed Social Services to make the amount of money that is costs to provide a care service available directly to the person needing care. This is in order to allow people, if they wish, to use that money to organise a care package that is personalised to their need. This is known as an Individual Budget. Everyone, who needs care, is entitled to take advantage of this Individual Budget scheme. This can be administered in several different ways including ‘Care Provider Brokerage Services’. is offering this new and creative way of helping individuals and their families to develop services which they can have control over.

In essence our aim is to ensure that people are able to lead the lives they want. Our Care Provider Brokerage service can be used by people who need some support managing their Care Services, Budgets, Care Plans and Suppliers. People may be living at home and require domestic or specialist care, or some help may be needed to get a job or to make new friends. Whatever your circumstances are, can work in partnership with you to help you plan and achieve what you want from life. We can help you think creatively about how best to meet your needs and help you to find solutions to make things happen. How can help you live the life you choose?

Planning

A fully qualified social worker, your personal planner, will help you apply for an Individual Budget and develop a personalised care and support plan. Your plan will be regularly reviewed to ensure it is meeting your ever changing needs.

Service Design
  will help you design the service you want, individual to your needs and achievable within your budget. personal planners are trained to look beyond helping you to just manage. They will help you identify some positive enjoyable activities, either at home or within the community which can be incorporated into your Individual Budget allocation. Our organisation also has a technology division and can offer advice on assistive technologies that can help you live more independently.

Service Delivery

In addition to this brokerage service, provides a wide range of care services including: Care Workers (fully trained and police checked) 24/7 domestic services, odd jobs around the house, accompanied visits to doctors, friends, events, etc

Financial Support

If you are receiving an individual budget, managing the cashflow is one of the trickiest things that you will need to do so will assist you every step of the way. You decide what you want and we will help you budget to achieve this. Normally Individual Budgets are used to pay directly for the services you need but can also arrange for you to have access to some cash to do the things you want.

Obviously Social Services will need to know that you have spent the money for the purpose stated when you applied. will help you keep up to date financial records of your budget and provide Social Services with the information they need.

will ensure that funds are readily available for the non-care worker based activities by supplying you with a cash card facility that can be used at cash points or to purchase goods or services e.g. pay for a taxi, buy a cinema ticket.

General Support and Co-Ordination
  have a dedicated support team that are available 7 days a week. We can answer any questions you might have along the way and can help you resolve any issues. Our team of care workers will meet with your Personal Planner on a regular basis and will make sure that the service they are giving meets your requirements.

Types of Jobs

  • Respite Care - part time or 24 hour care to allow for a carer to have a break or holiday.
  • Escort - hospital appointments, shopping trips, social activities, etc.
  • Personal Care - washing, dressing, bathing, shaving, incontinence / stoma / catheter care, toileting, assistance with medication, feeding.
  • Domestic support - laundry, bed making, housework, shopping, meal preparation, light gardening, odd jobs.
  • Re-enablement - assessment and advice on re-gaining daily living skills, looking for alternative ways of living independently.
